This appears to be the same issue as folks discovered with the Joomla 3.4.7 release. Since I patched the sessions.php file on a Joom 2.5.28 site, DT register quit working. When you go to register for an event, it lets you choose individual or group and then loops back to an event list.

Just upgraded to DT 2.8.16, but no help.

Is there a quick fix available short of backing out the sessions.php patch?
I have not seen an updated security hotfix available yet for 2.5.

I installed the 2.8.16 version that was included with the recent update. Unfortunately, this does not address the issue.

I have confirmed that by backing out the session.php change in Joomla, DT Register once again works correctly. However, like those users on Joom 3.x, I am currently unwilling to compromise the site in order to re-open registration.

We are DITW at the moment.
