TOPIC: [SOLVED] JomSocial Plugin cause syntax Error

I just did some updates both Joomla and DTRegister. The Jomsocial plugins are in the update files so I decided to just update. (not sure if the error with the old plugins enabled and new component file but all was good prior)

with plugins enabled, I get an error in 3 places. 1) on the entire front end 2)Admin/Components/DTRegister 3)Admin/Components/Jomsocial. the error on front end is a blank screen and a line that reads.... syntax error, unexpected '$subject' (T_VARIABLE), expecting ';' or '{' .... In the admin the error note is the same but the page has an admin skin.

I disable one and some of the 3 work, disable both and all 3 go out.
I am online now with the plugins disabled and all seems good but I use these plugins and wish to get them working
php 7.1.13
Joomla 3.8.4 Stable
Database V 5.6.37
dth 3.2.7
Jomsocial 4.5 (same version as when it was working,no update published)

plugins which seem to cause issue are
DT Register Records (JomSocial)
DT Register Activity (JomSocial)

One confusion action is that I enabled the plugin "DT Register Activity (JomSocial)" and it works on the front end and the front end looks good the two admin error say off but when I enable the other plugin all 3 errors popup and can not be corrected unless I turn off both plugins then turn "DT Register Activity (JomSocial)" back on (or not). just a action to maybe help you find my plugin error.

Hi Nathan, You sent a ticket with a link several weeks ago that had the update records1_11 but the link in my ticket goes to a 500 error. I may have been too late to pick it up. I checked and the latest package download has the old 1-10 as well. Thanks in advance.
