Thanks for the prompt response.
I'm sure you can understand my error. First thing I did when I installed 3.2.2 (and the new Authorize.net plugin) was to go to the Pay Options configuration, and when I didn't see Authorize.net fields where I normally see them, and not having any DT documentation explaining how to properly configure the plugin, I naturally assumed that the plugin must be the correct place to enter Authorize.net details.

isaiah, I think you may have had the same problem I did- the auth.net config settings didn't appear in the payment config area because you didn't have the plugin enabled. Once I enabled it in the plugins list, those fields showed up.

The Transactions API was already enabled... still having problems with "Payment for Registration Canceled" message after returning to the website from Authorize.net.

Is anyone using the new Sim "Accepted Hosted" setting in Payment Options?

The new upgraded resolved this issue. Thanks everyone for your perseverance in identifying the problem. That was a tricky one to find.
