TOPIC: Paypal Payment Received but no DT Register Registration created

With the very latest builds of DT Register, we are unaware of anything that would cause this issue any longer. Most cases, it's an issue tied to PayPal or hosting account setup.

Yes, the process needs modified to store an incomplete record prior to moving to PayPal or other payment methods. That will take more work than you realize. It will happen, but just hasn't yet. We are aware.

Like I said though... if all is setup correctly and is fully updated... this shouldn't be an issue anyway.

Unfortunately successful payments without a registration do also occur on other payment providers, like Mollie, which we use.
This is an issue for a long time now (6+ months). Installing the DTRegister updates didn't help.
Other users have addressed this problem too, even in the latest version ( www.dthdevelopment.com/index.php?option=...&id=23385&Itemid=141 ). Also the '_dtregister_session' table in the database doesn't contain a new record when this occurs.

But there are other fundamental problems. If you use DT invoice, you've to hack it, to get a reasonable invoice layout. Joomla layout overrides do not work. Apart from that we had to hack even more to get the cronjobs and invoice mailing system working.

The last major problem is that the event archive buttons were corrupted after the last update. They don't work after clicking on it. For weeks our client can't use it.... (DTReg bufix update has introduced new flaws in earlier stable functionality)

Lastly we experience that Dth Development have an 'ad hoc' approach regarding support/communication. Sometimes we get quick answers but structural issues like this one don't get a 'plan/path to resolve'. Example: a ticket created on August 26, 2014 is still unanswered/open, and probably will be forever.

DT Register is a very nice product (really like it), but with show-stoppers and poor support/bug fixes I do not recommend it to use it in production/commercial environment (at this moment).

Question about previous recommendations to address this issue

Question, what should the notification url be set to?

5) No login required to access the Joomla site

Question, does this mean that all event registration must be for registered users only? Events can be setup to allow public access with Joomla User creation so this recommendation does not seem correct.

The notification URL should just be your website... like www.yoursite.com

The login to access the site does not refer to content or events. That was for the site itself. Sometimes people have the site offline while in development so a password is required to access the site at all. That will keep IPN from working.

Everything was working fine until the day after update to Installed Version: 3.1.2
now records of payments for event are no longer showing just free event records.

no changes have be made else where apart from update.

any suggestions ?

All of the following are okay "

1) IPN enabled in the PayPal account along with sending of IPN messages.
2) Auto-return turned OFF in the PayPal account.
3) Site permissions correct, meaning 755 directories and 644 files including the directory containing your Joomla install and on down.
4) No security type restrictions (such as in .htaccess file) that keep IPN from being able to hit /components/com_dtregister/success.php
5) No login required to access the Joomla site

We were previously update on Joomla and running version 3.0.9a and all was good apart from the save issue which is why we moved to the latest version.

Angela, please update to 3.1.3 and see if your issue remains. If so, continue in a ticket. We've confirmed that PayPal IPN works fine in the 3.1.3 package... so as far as we can tell at this point, any issue would be coming from elsewhere.
