I updated to the newest version for J 2.5 and since then the only fields that are truly required are the username and password. All other required fields (red asterisk) can be skipped.

Any suggestions?

You most likely have an issue here beyond DT Register. First, make sure you are using Joomla 2.5.28. Second, make sure you manually apply the "EOL" hot fixes from Joomla found here:

docs.joomla.org/Security_hotfixes_for_Joomla_EOL_versions

Without that, the latest DT Register for 2.5 will not work correctly. It's modified to work with the latest and most secure 2.5 options available.

Yes, the Joomla version is 2.5.28.

I had followed the instruction of applying the Session Hardening Patch before updating DT Register to 2.8.18.

People are registering without filling their contact info in the required fields which is causing quite a problem for the client.

Can you offer any other suggestions?

Thought I'd update this thread with the solution I found.

I noticed that if you were already signed into the front end of the site the required event registration fields worked as expected. Therefore the problem existed only when you were registering a login to the site along with registering for the event. I am guessing the site registration and the event registration used different field validation scripts that were in conflict.

I installed jQuery Easy Joomla plugin and found by disabling Mootools the conflict went away and everything seems to be working now.
