A registrant has the option of bringing 4 guests.
- Guest registration is $15 each
- The guest has the option of attending the banquet for $45.
- If the guest attends the banquet, a meal choice must be made.
This is what I have set up:
- Check one box for each guest: 1 – 2 – 3 - 4
A fee of $15 is attached to this field for each guest checked.
- When one box is checked, a text box appears to type in guest’s name
- a drop down appears with meal choices: no meal, chicken, pork, vegetarian.
A fee of $45 is attached to this field if a meal is chosen
When the second guest box is checked, then the 2nd text field and 2nd meal drop down appear.
In testing, we found if a registrant clicks the back button to edit their registration, the guest check box is still checked, but the two conditional fields (name and meal choice) disappear. The fees are deducted from the total. The registrant sees the guest check box is still checked, and does not realize they have to fill in the name and meal choice again. Those fields will not appear unless the guest check box is unchecked and rechecked.
I have this same progression of fields later in the registration but with no fees attached. The same issue happens of the checkbox remaining checked but the conditional field no longer appear.
What is a better configuration of fields?
