I am trying to edit a field in Field Management. In the last section (Default Settings) I do not have a "NO" option for Required. I have attached a screen shot.

Please tell how make the default setting No.

What you are seeing is the options that apply only to three fields: firstname, lastname and email. Those three fields MUST be used so you'll find the default options as well as what you see as available within the event setup is slightly modified.

All other fields will have full options.

Is there any way to change this? I have two events. One is using those fields with no issues. But the second event is for kids and requires both the Childs name and the Parents name, so I need those to be labeled specifically.

No. You can get by with using just one of the name fields... so use firstname OR lastname. "email" must always be used though.

You CAN change the labels as needed.

I am having the same problem with the Required Default Field Settings. I have several events, most can use the default settings, but there is one that I need "Student Name" and "Parent Name". If I change the title of the default settings, won't it will change it in all the events - even those that use the default settings?

If there's not a work-around for this, I highly recommend creating one in your next upgrade.

You should be able to get by with using just one of the default name fields... so use "firstname" for your regular usage and use "lastname" with a label of "Parent Name". Then for other name needs, create additional fields. Having one of the default name fields in place combined with the default email field, you should be fine.

Thanks. My concern is if I change "Last Name" to "Parent Name" it will change for all events. Is there a way to change that field setting for just one event?

No, it would change that field for all events.
