GoDaddy Problems?

Discuss the J1.5 version of DT Register

GoDaddy Problems?

Postby charterjen » Mar 14, 2012 5:46 pm

I noticed in the prior versions of DT Register there was mention of a special setting for using GoDaddy, but that it is no longer used in the most current version ( I have 2.7.14b installed) Our registration just went live, and the whole site crashed with the first registration attempt. The user got an error upon the PayPal redirect, and subsequently the whole site went down. Ideas? A fluke or a problem?

We did fix some issues that some users were experiencing with the payment options. These are included in version 2.7.15.

Also, sometimes Godaddy servers require you to use the second Curl option in the configuration.

Can you please tell me more about this "the second Curl option in the configuration"? Many of our customers are getting a 3005 error (Page not found) when trying to connect with PayPal and I am trying to figure out where the problem is originating.

CURL is not used for Paypal integration so that doesn't matter. The error you are referencing is not one we've seen before. Make sure you have the current package, and correct PayPal info in your DT setup. If you still have an issue, submit a ticket with plenty of info on how we can replicate a problem. Thanks.

This is a PayPal issue. I have had this issue sporadically on my site and PayPal's response is:

Thank you for contacting PayPal’s Merchant Technical Services.

Some customers receiving error code 3005 during checkout is a known issue that our developers are working to resolve. At this time, I unfortunately, do not have a timeframe as to when this issue will be resolved. You will be notified as soon as it is. I apologize for the inconvenience.

It took quite a bit for PayPal to admit this problem, I actually had to find a customer that could give me the source code of the error page before they would even tell me that a 3005 error was real. Before that, their standard line was, "that is not a PayPal error number in our system".

So contact PayPal about this error, and stay on them!
