[SOLVED] "Free" but not "Gratis"

Postby giesse » Jul 31, 2012 6:12 pm

Dear friends, when I set a FREE subscription event, i.e. amount is zero, I get GRATIS as description. Probably that is right, when literally translated . But in my case FREE does not mean GRATIS , but "at your choice". On Italian, that is LIBERA. Where could I modify this term, to get LIBERA instead of GRATIS ? Many thanks in advance.

Hello. You just need to modify the language file.

For frontend:
/language/it-IT.com_dtregister.ini

For backend/admin:
/administrator/language/it-IT.com_dtregister.ini

Hello ! thank you very much. I found those files, I downloaded them and modified them as requested. Then I uploaded the modified files, having renamed the old ones before. But I get no result ! I tried to clean up cache at joomla, and also at browser. No way!
any further advice please ?

Hi,

When I change a translation, it's applied directly (F5).

Maybe you do something wrong.

Tips : keep your langage file before upgrading next time.

Yes if you made a language file change but you don't see it reflected, you either didn't change the right tag, or you need to clear cache in your site and browser. The text doesn't pull from anywhere else.

CLOSED! Thank you all. The exact procedure is: 1) get the website offline; 2) disable website cache (joomla); download the language ini file; 3) edit the language ini file and save it (offline, at local); 4) upload the updated language ini file; 5) re-enable cache on joomla website; 6) get the website online.

It is unnecessary to put your website offline or to turn off and back on the site cache. You can simply clear the site and browser cache after making your file change.
